The Board of Supervisors recently approved an ordinance outlining the new repercussions. A second reading of the ordinance is scheduled for Aug. 21.

If it receives final approval, the provisions would be as follows:

• Any person caught operating an adult-use cannabis operation without required permits will face a fine of $1,000 per day.

• A second violation within a 12-month period will cary a penalty of $3,000 per day per violation.

• A third violation within a 12-month period will carry a penalty of $5,000 per day per violation.
