No Immunity: judge orders Fresno Private school to cease in-person classes immediately
Fresno County health officials have won a legal victory against a private Christian school that welcomed children back to live classes against public health orders.
Superior Court Judge D. Tyler Tharpe granted a preliminary injunction against Immanuel Schools Tuesday and ordered that they “immediately cease and desist from conducting, participating in or attending in-person class instruction.”
The school had raised a peculiar legal defense. It claimed high rates of previous infection, detected via antibody tests, show the student body has “herd immunity” from COVID-19.
