Over 1.1 Million Illegal Marijuana Plants Destroyed in Annual Crackdown
A concerted effort by federal, state, and local officials to crack down on illegal cannabis cultivation has led to the destruction of more than 1.1 million plants over a 13-week period.
The operation was led by The Campaign Against Marijuana Planting (CAMP). Operations were carried out at 455 sites across 29 California counties.
According to Attorney General Xavier Becerra’s office, there were 140 arrests and 174 weapons seized. The largest bust occurred in Riverside County.
