Ventura County Welcomes First Diversity and Inclusion Officer

Ventura County has welcomed its first ever Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer. Phin Xaypangna started her new job on January 11.
Xaypangna was selected in November from a pool of 150 applicants from around the country. She will be tasked with engaging, strategizing, and implementing diversity initiatives to ensure all employees and public service recipients are treated with respect and free from discrimination.
Xaypangna most recently served as the equity and inclusion manager for Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, where she helped develop policies that strengthen inclusion, equity, and diversity of its workforce.
