Siskiyou Supervisor Ed Valenzuela to Lead California State Association of Counties

Siskiyou County Supervisor Ed Valenzuela has been selected as the next President of the California State Association of Counties (CSAC). He will be sworn in Thursday, Dec. 2.

In addition to representing Siskiyou’s 2nd District, Valenzuela serves as CSAC’s First Vice President and chairs the rural caucus. He has served on CSAC for eight years.

This is the first time a North State leader will serve as CSAC president since 1984-85 when Shasta County’s Stephen Swendiman was at the helm. He intends to push for masks and vaccinations to prevent the spread of COVID-19, as well as the expansion of broadband in rural areas, according to the Mount Shasta Herald.
