These Counties Lead in Unprocessed Ballots

The March 5 primary took place over a week ago, but there are still over 1 million ballots to be counted statewide.

Los Angeles County takes the top spot, with 254,500 ballots unprocessed as of Monday. The runner-up, Alameda County, has 95,238 left to process. Sacramento has 83,886 ballots remaining.

Los Angeles has processed 1,401,547 ballots so far. Alameda and Sacramento have processed 194,902 and 239,319 respectively.

Just 33-35% of the state's 22 million registered voters participated in the 2024 primary, making it one of the lowest-turnout elections on record in California.
