Riverside Hires New Ag Commissioner, Delia Jimenez Cioc

Riverside County has hired its first ever female agricultural commissioner, Delia Jimenez Cioc. She succeeds Ruben Arroyo, who retired after seven years overseeing the office.

The Office of the Agricultural Commissioner is responsible for a variety of farming-related duties, including pest control programs. It has just over 50 employees.

Cioc has worked for the office since 2004 and most recently served as assistant agricultural commissioner. She holds a bachelor of science in agricultural biology from Cal Poly Pomona.

"I remain committed to promoting and protecting our agriculture, the environment and the residents of our beautiful and diverse county while upholding equity in the marketplace," said Cioc, who spent her childhood on farmland. Her upbringing led to “a profound appreciation for the industry,” according to the county’s Executive Office.
