Daniel Chatigny Made Permanent CEO of Placer County

Placer's Acting County Executive Officer Daniel Chatigny was appointed to the permanent role Tuesday, following the May 4 retirement of Jane Christenson. The Board of Supervisors cast a unanimous vote to promote Chatigny to the job.

“I speak for the entire Board of Supervisors when I say we are confident we have selected the best leader to guide our organization into the future,” said Board Chair and District 4 Supervisor Suzanne Jones. “Daniel has proven himself well qualified to manage county business efficiently and professionally and has easily gained the respect of numerous county partners. We are fortunate to have such an excellent candidate in our midst.”

Chatigny has worked for Placer County since 2019 when he was hired as the finance and budget operations manager. He was later promoted to deputy CEO, assistant CEO, and acting CEO. Before his time in Placer, Chatigny served for 13 years as head of the Community Development Agency in Nevada County.

Chatigny said he was honored to help lead Placer into the future.

“I look forward to working with the board, the many exceptional employees of Placer County, and, of course, our external partners,” he added. “I am blessed to be part of this organization and humbled by the confidence the board has placed in me.”
