Ex-Spokesperson Claims DA Pamela Price Destroyed Records, Referred to Asians as Her ‘Enemies’

Embattled Alameda District Attorney Pamela Price is being sued by a former spokesperson over claims of wrongful termination, bullying, and harassment.

Patti Lee worked as Price’s public information officer for six months before she was fired last year. Lee says she was let go for pointing out illegal acts by the district attorney’s office—notably, the concealment, deletion or alteration of files requested through the California Public Records Act.

In her lawsuit, Lee also makes shocking claims about Price’s attitude toward Asian Americans. Price “constantly and openly make derogatory remarks” about them, the lawsuit claims. Lee also claims Price once said her enemies are “the media and the Asians.”

Lee’s lawsuit comes less than five months before voters are set to decide whether to recall Price. The crux of the recall is Price’s progressive criminal justice policies. However, disarray within the DA’s office, nepotism, and discrimination against Asians are all allegations being raised by recall supporters.
