Does San Francisco’s Face Covering Policy Apply to Mayor Breed?

San Francisco Mayor London Breed was seen dancing and partying indoors without a mask at a nightclub on Thanksgiving. It was the second time she has appeared to violate San Francisco’s masking rules in as many months.

Don’t be surprised if we get another video like this next month. When confronted, the mayor was once again #SorryNotSorry.

"I was in a private area with my drinks with the people I was with, enjoying myself at a venue and I had a great time and I followed the appropriate protocols. And yes, I was dancing and yes, I was drinking and having fun. And at the end of the day, I am doing everything I can to follow the existing protocols," Breed told the San Francisco Chronicle. "And I think sadly, sometimes these videos are taking out of perspective," she added.

San Francisco’s face covering policy requires masks in indoor settings unless the person is actively eating or drinking. The most recent videos show Breed dancing in a crowd.
