Placer CEO Retires

Placer County Executive Officer Jane Christenson retired this month after 18 months on the job. She had been on leave since February.

Christenson joined Placer County as Assistant CEO in January 2019. She took over as CEO in 2022 after the firing of Todd Leopold.

In a news release, Placer officials said Christenson had been “instrumental in moving forward the county’s strategic initiatives and facilitating interdepartmental communication and coordination.”

Since her leave of absence began on Feb. 17, her deputy Daniel Chatigny has been serving as CEO on an acting basis. He will continue serving in that role until a permanent successor is named.
